Information-to-Action

Also known as Info2Act, this is a series of informational sessions open to all members of the union where you can learn about the union, connect with each other, and have more open, direct communication with union leadership. This will be extremely vital as we go into bargaining in the coming months, and look to create an informed, engaged, sustainable union for our next contract.

What kind of information can I expect to learn?

Our main goal with these session is to make sure you feel more knowledgeable, more comfortable, and more empowered to participate in union actions.

Some topics we might discuss in future sessions include:

  • What happens when museum leadership announces unexpected changes?

  • How can we strengthen community and information networks?

  • What do we want to see in our next contract?

  • What are our rights and how do we protect each other through collective action?

These are just some of the topics we might cover. Please take the survey to share any other topics you might be interested in learning more about.

Current Sessions

Rapid Response

Two of the museum’s recent egregious violations of our contract felt like a one-two punch. Leadership failed to communicate with our union before deciding to 1) switch health insurance providers and 2) fully outsource our custodial team to a third party.

During the Rapid Response sessions, we will discuss the ways we can protect each other the next time management tries to make a unilateral decision affecting our lives without our input.

[consider adding in some actual topics of discussion, like creating a game plan, going over rights, etc]
