SAIC NTT Faculty: Trained stewards can help!

We’ve trained our first group of interim stewards!

What’s a union steward? A steward is a coworker trained to represent and defend the interests of fellow union members.

Under the law, we have Weingarten Rights—that, is the right to request a steward be present in any meeting that you feel may result in or lead to discipline (e.g. criticism, censure or an issue with your chair). Your steward will be there to support you, take notes, and make sure your rights are protected.
